We’re delighted to report that he Musselburgh Horticultural Society has been awarded a £1,000 Revenue Grant from East Lothian Council (part of the Council’s Partnership Funding budget). We have also recently received £500 from the Musselburgh Charitable Trust.
These awards represent a great boost to our funds at a very opportune time.
Our Annual Flower Show in August is the highlight of our activities and this year will be held at The Brunton – a return after 4 years while The Brunton completed refurbishment.
Lindsay Morrison, President of the Society, says, “We’re very grateful to East Lothian Council and to the Musselburgh Charitable Trust as this new funding comes at just the right time for us. Returning to The Brunton for our Flower Show is fantastic because it’s a great venue, however there is an increased cost. But it’s going to be the biggest and best Show we have been able to put on for a while and we hope it encourages flower and vegetable growers to show what they have produced – and for lots of local people to come along and be inspired! We are especially hoping to attract many new children’s entries through local schools. Anyone can have a go!”
